Shontell Gauthier began BMX racing in 1981 and was twice the ABA National Champion (1984 and 1985). After many successes in mountain biking, marathon and cross-country racing, she shifted her focus to road racing in 2006. Racing for a local Austin team, she was able to achieve some great finishes in NRC races. In 2007 she continued her racing with the Canadian team Ultralink, and has proven to be a consistent rider and strong finisher. She will be racing with Tina Pic and the Colavita/Sutter Home Professional Cycling Team in 2008.
